Hey y’all hey! My name is Felicia D. Gibbons and I’m so glad you stopped by! I am from Rosser, Texas, home of Wildcat Country. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA in English, and a Masters of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I am a Finer Woman, and a basketball junkie!

Soul’s Emancipation is my first novel. Some twenty plus years ago, I had the idea of writing a book for my friends. We had just discovered a world of black writers and black genres, and after reading every book we could find in our local library, I said, “Hey guys, I’ll write a book for you to read!” And so it was, the birth of Soul’s Emancipation.

After a frustrating start in the publishing world, I stopped working on getting Soul’s Emancipation published, but my love for writing never went away through poetry works and article submissions.

Thanks to everyone who kept encouraging me along the way and reminded me everything works in God’s timing. I hope you enjoy the story of Soul and Anthony and a few of their friends.
